Book Review Wedding Flowers   Back ]

Bouquet Chic  by Kimberly Aurora Kapur

Recommended:  high

Our rating: 5/5

Comments:  I am biased, it is my favorite book because this is my own book!

Wedding Flowers  by Paula Pryke

Recommended:  high

Our rating: 4/5

Comments:  Paula Pryke has a distinct style.  Her style is restrained elegance combined with fresh English Garden look.  Bouquets and decor suitable for Royalty.

Bouquets by Marsha Heckman

Recommendation:  medium-high

Type:  Inspirational with written instruction on every design.

Our rating: 3.5/5

Comments:  This compact book has a handful of good ideas for your wedding bouquet.  The styles have stood up to time but are more classical than original.  Makes a great gift for a bride-to-be.

The Knot Book of Wedding Flowers  by Carley Roney

Recommendation: medium

Type:  Inspirational with some instruction

Our rating: 3/5

Comments:  This is a really basic book for those who know nothing about flowers or those who like very simple looks.  I would not recommend this if you are a high-style bride or professional florist.

The Bride's Bouquet
by Jeanne Graham

Recommendation: medium

Our rating: 2.5/5

Comments:  Not really impressed.  Pretty photography, but did not gather any  ideas as a professional and could not see it being very helpful to the bride either.

To Have & To Hold  by David Stark, Avi Adler

Recommendation: high

Type:  Inspirational with some instruction

Our rating: 4/5

Comments:  This book has it's great moments and it's mediocre.  Some pretty color combinations that look they could have been taken from this website (*wink*).  This book is a nice size and has more photos that most books on this subject.  Text is a little haughty, but overall an easy and pleasant read.

Bridal Flowers
by Maria McBride-Mellinger

Recommendation: high

Type:  Inspirational

Our rating: 5/5

Comments: A Classic. Mellinger's book epitomizes romantic style with its warm, diffused-lit photography to the sweet flower choices. The bouquets in the book are still original today as when it was first published in 1992.  An old book, but a proven classic.  This is one of our all-time favorites.  This is a great one for the bookshelf and the ages.  Touches on all aspects of wedding flowers in a small book.

Wedding Flowers
 by Shane Connolly

Recommendation: high

Our rating: 4.5/5

Comments:  This book may not appeal to those who like trendy fairy tale looks.  This book is very elegant and very sophisticated in style.  Absolutely fresh yet timeless.  Love how it is organized by theme!
